I have come across Thomas 67 B1774 and Ann Reilly 63 B1778 who lived in Aughnacor Killeshandra whilst doing research for my ancestor John Reilly and found in the 1841 census they lived in the same area.
I believe this Thomas may be John's brother and was wondering if any anyone else may have a connection to this family to confirm.
1841 census has Thomas 67 and Ann 63 married 1798 with son Charles 15 and granddaughter S Ann Elliss 10 and niece Jane Purceson 13
Other members who where absent from this house were sons Robbert 17, James 24 - both working away as servants and son John 28 in the police at Galway
On these census Reilly was spelt as Reilley as was his brother John:-
1841 census for JOhn 50 B1791 and Mary 38 (nee Hill) , sons Francis, JOhn, Thomas and William

Hi Sue,
Looking for siblings of relatives born circa 1774 is extremely difficult and indeed many have not been so lucky to get that far back. What you could do is look for their deaths on either Roots Ireland or Irishgenealogy.ie though they would have had to have lived to a ripe old age to be registered in the latter. Do also look at the wills available at https://genealogy.nationalarchives.ie and the land records on Griffiths Valuation, though making links with the names is difficult. Also look for records for headstones on Billiongraves, findagrave, historicgraves etc. There are more and more volunteers photographing and transcribing same. If John was a policeman, you should be able to get his records from findmypast and there is a great facebook group dedicated to this police force Royal Irish Constabulary1816-1922 -A forgotten Irish Police Force and they may be able to help you with his details. Policemen did earn a better wage than their labouring contemporaries and as a result may have placed a decent memorial over their parents. I hope you are successful in your endeavours.
