Hi all,
Happy new year to everyone here, may 2020 be a blessing for you all...
This is very difficult for me & very hard to write,
And a shock for some maybe..!!!
I did the ancestry dna test, to help me find the connection to the clouston family, A first cousin showed up that I had never heard off before, I didn't think much off it to be fair,
So after a time my father wanted his doing too, he found it all very fascinating,
When his dna came through, I was the one to see it first, it turns out my father isn't my father, yes he saw it too, I questioned my mum about it, she said the dna was wrong, then came out with another story, with devastating consequences for me,
So now I am left to find my birth father, she will not give me a name, all I have to go by is the name of the first cousin,
I really do NOT want to upset anyone reading this, there is more to the story them I'm willing to say right now, but I do need HELP...!!!!
The surnames are COTTON, DEVLIN, AND BRAHAM (BARHAM), I think maybe from newry, Ireland, can anyone help me please,
P.s
I have written to some of the people I'm trying to find, but none have written back, I'm going back 2 years now,
I look forward to hearing from anyone who can be my guardian angel,

Hi Georgina,
I wonder if accessing ancestry.com might help your search.
I searched for each of the 3 surnames in Newry, Armagh & found the Kennedy family tree which has John Devlin & Rose Toman who had children Brian Josephine Leo & Teresa all born in Newry, Armagh. If still alive they would be very old as born in 1920'2 & 30's and there is no information on their children
Perhaps the tree owner Clare Rosealeen Kennedy would have information for you but I notice a lot of her tree is private
There was nothing for Cotton or Barham / Braham.

What company did you use? I have found so much using my DNA and asking a lot of questions to helped me better understand how to work out who is who. I learned fast that names sometimes mean nothing. My great granda took on the name of his stepdad and non of us knew that stepdad wasn't bio dad.
Nothing added up to me. Why were the people who I knew should be showing not? After about 4 years I found someone who knew my grands family and 4 years of hair pulling came to a end. They were able to tell me that my chicken dance was because I was trying to find a link that wasn't real. G Granda wasn't bio dad, he was step. Once I got that info I laughed, I really did. Four years of hunting, building trees not understanding why I wasn't matching and the entire time it was because nobody wanted to air someone eles story.
Anyway, I have become pretty good with DNA and have helped a lot of others who were adopted. Zero payments, its a few of us that help others because we have gained knowledge and give some time in the evenings.
Anyway, if you want help,in any form you can email me. I am always happy to help.

Hi Georgina,
I checked ancestry.com and Clare has not logged in for a year.
If you want me to send her a message for you, if you provide an email address I'll get her to reply to that.

Hi Georgina,
I had a re-think about contacting Clare as you said you would do it and it's much better coming from you.
Maybe get Chez to look for other trees on ancestry whose owners might know something?
