Looking for my Irish roots for my Daly and Reilly lines. My great-grandfather John Francis Daly was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1861. His baptismal certificate lists his parents as Brin Dailey and Mary Reiley, both of County Mayo.
Here is what I know on this side of the Atlantic:
Brin (aka Bernard) was born around 1840, as was Mary. He may have immigrated to New Orleans with his parents and siblings around 1857. I believe his parents were James (born @1791) and Catherine (born @1810).
Mary may have immigrated to New Orleans in 1849 with her parents Con (born @1799) and Bridget (born @1819).
Bernard and Mary eventually made their way to New York City, where they both died in the 1890's and my great-grandfather John died there in 1916.
John's baptismal certificate is my only real clue as to the origin of both these lines. Can anyone point me in the right direction to research further in the Irish records? Thank you for any help.
