I will be in Ireland in Sept 2019 and would dearly love to be able to get more information about my Grace Family especially places where they lived,were born,baptised and worshipped,the icing on the cake would be to meet family still living in the area.This is the information I have so far,my gggrandfather Pierce Grace was the son of Thomas Grace and Mary Slattery,he was born in Tipperary about 1815. Pierce married Catherine Moylan about 1836 in Nenagh,Tipperary,their first child Bridget was born in Ballyanny in 1844 and christened in Monsea on 4th June 1844,Michael my ggrandfather was born in Island Bridge Dublin in 1848,the other children Honoria 1848,Mary Josephine1850,Jeremiah Joseph 1852, Patrick James 1855 were all born in Tipperary.

The family emigrated to Auckland New Zealand on 7th March1856 ,arriving there on the 9th July, another child Annie Mary Teresa was born there in 1858.I would be very grateful for any help that you could give me regarding this family.  Many thanks.  Faye Wellings

  • I too am trying to research my Grace roots.  From things I am seeing I had Grace family got to New Zealand.  My Great Gandfather was John Grace that was miner. His father was John and Grandfather James.  My great grandfather immigrated to Chicago Illinois.  I'm having trouble researching.

  • My grandfather's father in Ballyanny rented from James Grace as did a few others in 1852.
