Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows if any bruial records were kept in the parish of Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary or perhaps even Terryglass? I have the civil death record, I'm just wondering if there would be any burial record/cemetery plot informtation kept within the parish, or nearby parishes?
I'm trying to find where Nora Burgess is buried, her civil death record lists her death as 6 June 1950. I have looked both online for headstones, and gone to the graveyards in Borrisokane & Terryglass, but I found no headstone or record of where the grave is located.
Any help or pointers, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Eliza, I hope I am not intruding on a local volunteer, however we do not normally answer queries until 100 years have elapsed. However I would recommend you try the local library to see if the death was in the paper which would give the graveyard etc Also the national papers usually had death notices placed in them, mainly the Irish Independent but for a variety of reasons they may be recorded in the Irish Times or the now defunct Irish Press. The local library would do a search usually a nominal fee is required for a record and it would be emailed to you. See http://www.tipperarylibraries.ie/
There are a number of Facebook pages on Tipperary Genealogy and one only does queries rather than one that just does DNA, you could join as they are closed and ask and you might strike lucky with a local.
Good Luck

Hi Eliza and Pat. If you Google Tipperary Studies Digitisation Project you will see the headstone inscriptions for Terryglass.
Best of luck, let me know how you get on.

Thank you both, I will try the Tipperary library, looking at old local newspaper's might be my best bet. I will take a look at the digitisation project too, however I have a feeling that the headstone is unreadable, that's if it is still there. But its worth a shot :)
Thanks for the help, I was running out of ideas.
