Hello,
My great grandmother Seymour came to the United States from Ireland in about 1882. Her family origin was largely unknown for many years. Now through DNA testing, we have determined that they must have been part of one of the branches of Seymours who lived just to the west of Nenagh in Tipperary.
Although the evidence that we have found is sparse, we are hopeful that with more testing in Ireland we will eventually find closer DNA matches. The matches we are finding at present have been in the 5th to 8th cousin range. Hoping to find more Seymour descendants from the area to share information and possibly undertake DNA testing.
Anyone having information to share about the Seymour lines in this area, please contact me. I would be glad to share what I know.
Thank you.

Hi Christina
My 2nd great grandfather William Hogan married a Mary Seymour (Seymore), they were from Burgessbeg Nenagh in Tipperary. They had a son Martin my great grandfather who emigrated to NZ in 1878. I was wondering if there was any link there in the research you have done with the Seymours from Portroe.
I have a DNA match to a Edward Hogan who's 2nd Great grandfather was Hugh Hogan married to a JudithJulia Symons Seymore ( Seymour)
Look forward to hearing from you
Cheers
