I am researching Michael O'Brien [1839 - abt. 1918] and his wife Margaret Quirke [ 1842- 1901) who were originall from Tipperary but moved to Waterford
O’Briens of Waterford
My husband’s great grandfather Michael O’Brien (Abt. 1839- 1918) appears to have been born, Classnasmut, Carrick-On Suir, CoTipperary, Ireland and married a Margaret Quirk in 28 Jan 1866 Green Side Parish Garrick-On-Suir, Co Tipperary (Listed as Bryan On Certificate).
He has about 8 children all born/baptised in St Patricks Waterford Co. Waterford Ireland late 1860’s early 1870’s
He ran a grocery shop/wine merchant/ shoe repair? in Waterford city which progressed to MODEL Bakery by early 1900's, with outlets in Carrick-on-Suir and Tranmore I believe. Looking at newspapers, Model Bakeries became a company in the 1950's
My husband is a descended from the eldest son of Michael, John O’Brien b 1868 who died at the age of 36 in 1906 in Sydney. His brother Laurence took over their father’s business and was instrumental in growing Model bakery.
I see where Laurence O’Brien’s niece Margaret (Peggy) dtr of a younger brother Michael b abt, 1877, married Daniel (Danny) Bowe in 1936. I understand , O'Briens, Bowes and Morgans (Danny Boees mother were well known in Waterford.
I am interested in the decendents of the O'Brien family still in Ireland or where they may have migrated to
Regards
Robyn O'Brien
