Looking for information on William & Annie Mulcahy who lived in Clydaville in 1927

I checked the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and this was the only William Mulcahy marriage to an Anne in the Mallow Registarion district prior to 1927. They were living in Mallow. Not sure if this record is for your grandparents.

I also checked the 1911 census for Clydaville and there were no Mulcahys or Cliffords there.

"Full" means 21 and over. (But folk didn't always tell the truth).

Did your father ,John emigrate to USA.?  Wat other siblings  had John.

My name is Donie o Sullivan and i live in Glantane parish and know clydaville. Clydaville was a gentlemans residence with gardiner, domestic servants etc  and a townland named  Clydaville developed around this containing about 4 houses.I had a quick look at some databases and found the following

William Mulcahy  from  Clydaville died on 22 th May.1934.he died in hospital in Cork city from TB at 38 years.

Annie Mulcahy ,Clydaville died there on 27th Oct.1934  and her father Daniel Clifford was present .

Thank you for this information and apologies for the delay in replying - I have been away for a couple of weeks.

This information is really helpful - I knew my father's parents both died very young and the children (there were 5 ) were sent to live with nuns and monks I believe - but again its only from a distant memory .

You mention the name John at the beginning of your message - my father was Hugh and as far as I am aware there was not a John among the siblings - Eileen, Kathleen, Maura and Liam

If this is my father's family it would seem that the father "William Mulcahy" was born in 1896 - from the marriage certificate of him & Anne it looks as though William's father was also called William.  From the 1911 census I can only see one William Mulcahy with father William Mulcahy that was born in Cork area to be aged around 15 and that was one from Colligan Beg.  

Any other information for confirming the details would be greatly appreciated.

The john referred to above was not entered by me but must be part of a previous message.

I had a quick look again and find that the Mulcahys came from a townland called Toureen in Mourneabbey Catholic Parish which would be near Burnfort village and about 6 miles south of mallow town ,however, Toureen is in Kilshannig Dispensary District and therefore state records are under Kilshannig Civil Parish

William Mulcahy was born there on 16th Sept.1899 to William and Bridget Healy.

William (senior ) died there on 18th June1916 from cancer at 64 years of age.His wife Bridget was present.He was a farmer

Bridget died there on 19th april 1951 aged 79 and her son Thomas was present.

I saw they also had the following childrens births 

Thomas 2 April 1892.

Daniel 18 Oct.1894

Mary 22 May 1896

William 16 Sept 1899.

As Thomas was the eldest son he would normally inherit the farm .
