Hello from New Zealand.

This is the only information I have on Bridget Agnes O'Brien born abt 1852 Tipperary, Ireland, arrived in Auckland New Zeland 2 Mar 1874 on the Queen of the Age aged 24 yrs, housemaid. She married in NZ and died 1910 Gisborne, NZ.

Her NZ 1878 marriage certificate does not state parents, her NZ death certificates has parents as unknown.

Is there any way of finding who her parents are ? I have not idea on where in Tipperary the family came from.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

    Without having the parents names, you will not be able to find where Bridget was from. I checked on the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were 56 Bridget O'Brien/Brien baptismal records in Co. Tipperary from 1847-1857 and there are a number of Tipperary parishes not in the Roots data base.

    You may want to add Bridget's story to our XO Chronicles site  https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…;  and possibly someone will see a connection.

    I would also consider DNA testing. You may get some matches with O'Brien connections and find information on the origins of Bridget's family.

    Thank you very much in trying help, my cousin who comes from this O'Brien line has done a DNA, nothing comes up for Bridget.
