Looking for any information on James Edmund Quinlan who left for Adelaide, South Australia in 1874 on the clipper ship City of Adelaide. I think his fathers name was Patrick. He was my great grand father. He met and married Catherine Quinlan from County Clare in Adelaide.

Hi Kathryn . . .
Welcome to Ireland Reachin Out . . . and to the Volunteer for . . Roscrea, Co.Tipperary.
You give us very little to go on . . . but . . we may have struck it lucky . . on the first try . . .(see below attached )
I searched firstly . . on " Roots Ireland " . . a paid for site . . and luck struck . .
I then went to the actual Church records of St.Cronans R.C. town Church . . . which is available now through the National Library of Ireland
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000634777#page/293/mode/1up . . . . which appears to verify the Roots information. . .
with one slight observation . . the witness Liffey . . . could also be Coffey . . . both of which names are still in common use here. . .
There is NO guarantee . . . that this is YOUR relation . . . but I'm guessing that it is . . .
If you could root out some additional information. . . re. their wedding place and date . . in Australia . . their Family and children ??
Or . . was Catherine Quinlan . . baptised with a different SURNAME ?? and any hint of a place of Birth for her in Co.Clare . . .
I hope this will be of some help to your continued search . . .
Cheers for now . . . Eamonn
