I am looking for help in finding the parents of 3x great grandparents, Richard Cashin and Margaret Hooley. Richard and Margaret had TEN children, all born in Roscrea, with the exception of two which were born in Manchester. In addition, I am really trying to find relatives that are still living in the Roscrea area, as I will be coming to visit Ireland from the US next year and would love to meet some cousins out there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Hi Stacy,
I couldn't find Richard & Margaret's marriage on www.rootsireland.ie/ However, the National Library has made the R C registers freely available online at https://registers.nli.ie/. Type in Roscrea and the film numbers will come up; marriages for the years you need are there.
You didn't say whether you have the details for the 10 children but roots has these; you might have a few addresses to visit during your trip:

Hi there! Thank you so much for the response!! I think (and after further digging), that Richard and Margaret MIGHT have gotten married in Manchester, as their first son, Daniel, was born in Manchester on March 3, 1870.
According to the 1901 census in Ireland, their daughter Briget was also born in Manchester around 1867-1870?
I have all of the names that you provided me with. I also have Richard born in 1876 in Roscrea and William born in 1882 in Roscrea.
1901 they spelled their name Cashion (per the census only - that I know of) and in 1911 it was spelled Cashin (again, per the census - but that was the correct spelling back then). When a few came to the states it was changed to Cassin.
Where I'm starting to lose my lines is with Richard Cashin (m. to Margaret Hooley). I have his parents as possibly being Thomas Cashin and Catherine Walsh; and Margaret Hooley's parents possibly being Daniel Hooley and Anne Duffy - but thos are just gueses and nothing concrete.
I've used rootsireland; ancestryireland; irishgenealogy.ie; emeraldancestors; and a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head - but I have not used the one that you referenced but I will.
Would you know how I would go about getting actual copies of the death certificates for Richard Cashin and Margaret Hooley? They passed in 1925.
If you are able to help me push through this brick wall - that would be incredible - thank you again so much for the information you have provided. I had the names, but my dates were off on quite a few!! I can now put that information in and hopefully it will lead me down a much more narrow path.
I will look into those Cashins in Roscrea!
Sincerely,
Stacy O'Neill

Hi again Stacey,
Yes they were married in Manchester.
google free UK B M D & search for Cashin Richard & spouse Margaret 1860 to 1870 District Manchester & you'll get the reference to the record:
Manchester Volume 8d page 667
Lower on the page is 'what can I do now' which you click on for directions on how to order the certificate; HOPEFULLY it will have their parents' names!
For death certificates from Ireland go to http://www.citizensinformation.ie/ or google General Records Office Ireland Death Certificates

Stacy, I'm only after seeing your correspondences tonight - apologies for the late reply, but I may have some news for you. I had occasion to research Richard Cashin / Margaret Hooley on behalf of another member of your extended family a few years ago and I supplied them with the following information contained in the attached pdf. You will notice from it that in the Third Generation a Margaret Cashin married a Thomas O'Neill in Manchester - could this be your actual link? You will also notice from the attached that the person who made the original enquiry is descended from the same generation as Margaret (who married Thomas O'Neill), so there's more relatives throughpout the world! The report I mad to IrelandXO is attached. Also Sandy's (the original enquirer) wife unfortunately died not long after returning. I hope, though belatedly that this is of some value to your continued research. Many certificates can be obtained free of charge by searching and downloading from www.irishgenealogy.ie.
