I am looking for information on the Connelly family. Mary, may have also been know as Maire Nellie, was born around 1863 in Cre Dubh Spiddal. About 1884 she married Michael Coyne who was born in Loughaunbeg about 1859. Together they had 9 children between the years of 1886 and 1905: Martin, Mary, Ellen (my great-grandmother), Michael, John, James, Patrick, Joseph, and Edward; most of whom (possibly all) migrated to Portland Maine in the early 1900's. Martin went back to Ireland and lived in Salahoona with his wife Bridget Delia Dirrane. I have not been able to trace this family and further except that Michael has a mother, Mary, 90 years old, listed on the 1901 Census where they lived in Loughaunbeg. it is said that Michael Coyne died in Clifden in 1933. I do not know if Mary lived in Clifden as well or if she died in Loughaunbeg. Any information on this family would be so helpful!
Thanks,
Jonica Pearson

Hello again Jonica!
See my reply to your other message.
Roots Ireland has four Mary Conneely baptismal records in Spiddal from 1862-1864. I listed the two 1863 records below. I was unable to locate a record for Michael probably because the Spiddal baptismal records start in February 1861. https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0641

for reference - "Cre Dubh" is probably the village of Creduff (Placename database), in Irish 'An Chré Dhubh', Dubh is the Irish for Black - bh is pronounced a bit like a v in English. Creduff is located within Bohoona West townland, which is a short distance to the west of the town of Spiddal - see 1st Edition OSI map

Thanks Shanew147. I had the reference "Cre Dubh" from someone else on Ancestry.com that is related to the Coynes also. So that is helpful to know and makes sense given Mary Conneely was a servant in Creduff at the time of her marriage to Michael. I so appreciate the information!!
