Neither entry is for Dunmore.  The Roots Ireland website is a subscription site.

You might also check the Civil Records at Irish Genealogy if you believe that John Melia remained in Ireland, (or some members of his family).  The Civil records began in 1864 and many of the images for births, marriages and deaths are online.  The link for that site is below:

  Have you checked the Census Returns for 1901 and 1911?

There is an entry in the 1911 Census for a John Melia living as a boarder in  Knockaunnagat townland, Dunmore South, Galway  with the Michael and Kate Kelly family. 

If you have further information such as specific dates, names of parents, siblings, where John may have lived, etc. that would be very helpful.  In the meantime, I'll pass on this query to several volunteers for their assistance.

my John Malia came to America died feb 8 in butte Montana of pneumonia he lived in park city utah

I made a mistake birth year was  1836

All I’m told was he was born in Galway my great uncles grandkids in their 80’s told me he was from Galway not knowing what part  the other John Malia who was from dunmore was 125 in 1947 I’d like to also find out where he’s buried he was in ripleys believe it or not when he was 106

My name is Clare Horgan I am a volunteer for the Claregalway area in Co. Galway. I found a John Melia who died in Glenamaddy/Williamstown in 1902 at the age of around 96. Could be a relative? Glenamaddy and Williamstown would be close enough to Dunmore town. I’d like to know who his wife was and where they are buried Thomas Malia or melia was born 1845

Meant Tim malia born June 1848 same father

Looking for information on Matthew Malia (Melia) born ca.1836. His father may be Patrick. Matthew married Maria Cavenaugh. The couple moved to Newcastle on Tyne in the early 1860s looking for work in the mines and docks. Immigrated to Scranton PA in 1866. Any info would be appreciated. Peter J. Malia
