There are two Molony families in South Africa. I am descended from John Molony who arrived in South Africa about 200 years ago and we are aware that we came from County Clare but no more information than that. Yes, there are Molony families who emigrated to South Africa (as well as to Australia and the U.S.) and one of them did come to visit us here in Tulla several years ago.
In addition, we have some information about the Molonys of Kiltannon and the Molonys of Cragg (two branches of the same family) which have been published over the years.
