1842 - joined Mason Lodge. Trying to find exact location he lived and his mother’s maiden name. I believe Thomas Mahood was in textile business. He was married to Margaret Brady. I wonder her parentage...

This is very helpful.
I found James and Thomas in census at Seapatrick Parish but now I’m trying to find whereabouts they lived or where any of them are buried. It’s overwhelming!

Statutory birth registration started in Ireland in 1864 and I found 5 births for children to Thomas and Margret between 1864 and 1873.
Hanna 24.8.1864; Jane 1.1.1867; Agnes 25.9.1868; Anne 30.6.1871 & Louis 10.12.1873. The address on the ones I looked at was just Banbridge. Occupation weaver. So the family lived in the town somewhere.
Jane appears to have married William Hillis in the Church of Ireland in 1897, so that’s probably the Mahood family church. (Tradition being to marry in the bride’s church).
William Hillis was a widower. Here’s the family in 1901 (some children by his previous marriage):

Family in 1911:

Regarding where the Mahood family are buried, that may be tricky. If they were long established in Banbridge then churchyards in that area is the obvious place to start, starting with the Church of Ireland. However bear in mind that weavers usually weren’t very well off and so probably couldn’t afford a gravestone, so they may be in an unmarked grave(s).

Thomas Mahood & Margaret Brady & (10) childrem emigrated to Canada on 10 August 1875 onboard the Phoenician vessel and arrived in Quebec. They eventually ended up in Muskoka Ontario and their surname was also spelled as MAYHOOD in some records. Thomas died 14 June 1901 in Muskoka and Margaret died 8 April 1920 in Vancouver British Columbia. You can find more details on www.familysearch.com
