Hello!

I just found this site while doing research on my Great Grandfather, Patrick Lambert born  in Mountrath, Co. Laois on September 15, 1872. Parents are Michael Lambert and Mary O'Shannessy. Just looking for information that may be helpful to our family ( my mother's side) I also am planning a visit to the area Aug, 2018.

This ancestry research is all new to me and I'm finding it all so facinating. Was so happy to find out exactly where my great grandparents were from. I knew I was Irish, and grew up in the US with some Irish customs and music. It makes it more real to discover exactly where my family is from.   Any advice, suggestions or words of wisdom would be welcomed and appreciated.  Thank you for reading,  Debbie

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Below is a transcription of the civil marriage record from 1871 which also lists the names of the fathers of the bride and groom. Patrick had at leas three siblings:Elizabeth 1874 Michael 1876 Joseph 1879. I did not see the family in the 1901 census. Did they emigrate?

Hi Roger,   Thank you for this most helpful information! I greatly appreciate it. I'm finding through my research that the entire family emigrated to USA in 1888.
