Francis Kennedy

I found a possible birth record for Francis Kennedy in 1891 in the general area around Belturbet. Also located the 1901 and 1911 census records for that family. Did not find Elizabeth Small in the 1901 or 1911 censuses in Cavan and there is no civil marriage record for the couple. I would guess they may have married in England.

Let me know if you think this is the correct Francis Kennedy.

there was a Frank Kennedy aged 12 in the Lawn, Belturbet in the 1911 census - not sure if it is the right one though.

There was also a Small family at The Lawn but no Elizabeth and I could not find a birth record for her when I searched from 1911 onwards.

I should have thought about searching for Frank. You may have the right Francis but I could not locate a civil birth record for him.

Possible match for Elizabeth - as 'Lizzie', parents names match those mentioned... Small household, Deanery Street, Belturbet 1911

Hi Roger,

that birth record was bugging me and I was able to get Franks' siblings records. I think the answer is that he was named Hugh Francis Kennedy - record is July 1899.

I see probable births for three children to Francis and Elizabeth in Cavan Regisration district between 1936 and 1939, but no sign of a marriage in ROI, NI, England/Wales or Scotland.

Thankyou all for your replies, i do know Frank Kennedy lived at the Lawns do not know his parents name or any siblings he had cannot find anything on Ancestry, its strange that Elizabeth small cannot be found on the Census as she would still have been in Belturbet at that time i wonder why that is and i suppose its possible she married in England as i think she got married in about 1925 but again i cannot find any marriage details for England, this is one big mystery to me that i have been trying to find out about for years now, i am pretty sure there must be distant relatives of both the Kennedys and the Smalls still living in Belturbet/surrounding areas but it is finding them maybe they would have stories passed down...
