Hello!  Would anyone know what the meaning of the name Dlyehenam means.  It appears on a Baptims Record (attched) for a Mariam Dlyehenam Youell.  Mother was Moriae Wash (Walsh?) and Father was Edvardi Youell.   Is it a middle name and what would it be in English? or is it a surname?  Thank you. Welcome back!

I believe the word in question is Latin for illegitimate.

  • Thank you Roger McDonnell:  That is what a few people thought it was.  I wasn't sure because both the mother's name as well as a father's name is written.  I guess if they knew who the proven or admitted father was then his name was written down even though they were not married when the child was born.  What do you think?  Thank you.
