Hello,
I'm new to this site and would like some help. I'm a bit confused about choosing which Parish my Mayo ancestors came from.
My great great grandfather came to Australia on board the Sandringham in 1864. His name was Thomas Manley and the shipping document says he was from Castlemagh Co Mayo, His wife Mary ( nee Mooney ) was from Westport Co. Mayo. their 4 children were all born at Westport and also 1 born on the voyage, my great grandmother - Maria Josephine Manley.
Could someone tell me which Parish/s I should try to use on the community site?
Many thanks for any help.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I was unable to locate a townland spelled Castlemagh in Co. Mayo.Likely it is a place name somewhere near Westport. Since Westport is in Oughaval civil parish, I would join that parish. Here is a link to the parish page.

We also have an XO Chronicles site where you can add your ancestor stories. https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…
