Hello Again!
I am in Inverin now and hoping to find some of the Currans and relatives that my husband is related to.
From Griffiths valuation is looks like Nicholas Curran lived in Cregduff in 1855 (2h on the record but the associated map doesn't seem to distingish properties). He is also related to a Nicholas Curran born about 1815 maried to Julia Scanlon . Other DNA links are to Cormack Curran on Mason Island and some unkown Currans on Inishtravin.
Can anyone direct me to where I might find older cemetaries from this period in this area? I will be here for a week.
Thanks!
Victoria OConnell Curran

Dear Victoria:
Welcome to the Ireland Reaching Out website!
There is a very good website about the Galway County graveyards at this link below:
http://gccapps.galwaycoco.ie/graveyards/
The Galway County Council has been recording, mapping and transcribing the county graveyards for the last while. YOu will find that website very helpful. The contact for this project who would be in a position to give you further information is Marie Mannion, Heritage Officer. Her email is: mmannion@galwaycoco.ie
Her phone number is: (091) 509198.
Many thanks for your interest in Ireland Reaching Out. If you have further questions, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Jane.
