Clonmel Chronicle[1] of Wednesday evening, June 14th, 1865:
" On Saturday evening last, [10th June] at his residence, Mary-street, Clonmel, in the 67th year of his age, William H. Latham, Esq., late of Hamilton Abbey, Fethard (Tip.), J P., and Deputy Lieutenant of the county. The deceased gentleman represented one of the leading families of our county, and his death is mourned by a large circle of friends, who long esteemed him for those genial, unobtrusive, and gentlemanlike qualities which distinguished him through life. Yesterday his remains were interred in the family vault at Fethard, and the funeral cortège was met outside the town by a large number of the neighbouring gentry, who thus desired to testify their respect for the memory of one whom they ranked amongst their earliest friends. The funeral service was read by the Rev. Fred. Foote, rector, assisted by the Rev. J. Harley."
The ubove gentlman is my 3X grandfather born at Ballysheehan.
I am heading over to Ireland next week and wondering what I can find out about this family to give me the right direction for my time in the area.
Thank you
Della
