My 3x great grandfather was William Gleeson, born 1823 in Borrisokane, Tipperary. He was married to Martha "Mathilda" McIntyre, born about 1823. They came to the U.S. with children William and Ellen.
I believe that their elder son, Roderick, stayed in Ireland. I think that Rody may be the person that is listed in the census in Youghalarra, Tipperary in 1901 and 1911, and who died in Nenagh in 1914. I would like to find out if that is my Roderick, and if he had descendants who were in Ireland, and where they ended up.
I found on the map from Griffith's, the small house and land that William Gleeson rented in 1852 in Borrisokane. I would like to know more about the area, and I am planning to visit there this July. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Eileen Flinn Burton
