    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I located the parent's marriage record in 1891. You will have to sign-in to see the record. I looked at the 1902 Mary Ryan civil birth records in the Nenagh registration district and did not find her record. I also could not find the family in the 1911 census. Do you know the names of some of her siblings?

  • Hi Roger,

thank you so much for your quick reply and your find. :)

Mary  and Mathew Ryan had three children Mary, KAthy and Bridget I believe.

I am coming over to Ireland in June so am excited to find links and places to go where my ancestors were.

  • Carolyn,

Are you related to this family. My grandmother was Kathleen Mary Ryan. She was called Kate in the Dublin workhouse in 1910 and also on the ship going to New Zealand, She worked hard and paid for her two sisters to go to New Zealand. I remember Aunty Min and Aunty Mary Agnes. Aunty Mary never married. They all died in New Zealand. I have followed their history back to the early 1700's.

  • Hi Kate,

Yes!!!        Minnie was my grandmother and I remember visiting Aunty Mary in Manaia when I was young. I would so love it if you could share your findings of our history. I am heading to Ireland in June so would love to go to places and maybe the parishes where our ancestors were.

    Very excited :)

  • Are you serious! You are the first living person I have found from my Nan's side. What a great moment. And on Easter Sunday!!! Actually, this new find has changed the direction of my search. My email is k8reid@iinet.net.au

I do have Kathleen/Kate's movements though.

  • Carolyn,

I do have photos of the three sisters. Kathleen married Wilford Crichton. I will share all this with you when we connect.
