I have found records of a family member in the Petty Sessions order Books on Find my Past.
It states my relative, Robert Gabriel Keatinge as being a Yeoman in 1879. Can anyone enlighten me please on whether this is the military and where would and if I can find records at all.

Hello Barbara, I am looking at old queries and it is nice to get one where I learn something, thought I knew what a Yeoman was but looked it up in the Oxford Dictionary as per Countdown (do you get that programme for oldies mainly during the day) there is a military connection but also a servant in a royal or noble household and more, I have taken a photo of the definition and attached it if it is not too large.
