I have two marriage records from IFHF for the marriage of Michael Brown and Margaret Mackin. One record is dated 31 Mar 1845 at Parish/District of Clogheen, Co. Waterford. The second record is dated 3 Mar 1845 at Parish/District of Clogheen, Co. Tipperary. I'd like to know which county is the correct one?
I also have two baptism records for Michael, a son of Michael and Margaret, each with the date of 15 Sep 1859, Parish/District of Clogheen, one in Co. Waterford and one in Co. Tipperary. Again, I'd like to know which one is right.
Also, are baptism records available for c. 1825? Michael (father) was born about then. I'm guessing it would be the same parish, Clogheen.
Thank you,
Allison

The Catholic parish of Clogheen (swilson.info) is based in Co. Tipperary although right on the border with Co. Waterford (also close to Co. Cork). The parish is in the Diocese of "Waterford & Lismore", which may account for it appearing under some Co. Waterford records. (Border parishes, or those with parts divided between Counties Waterford and Tipperary often appear on the more than one county section on IFHF website)
Baptism records for the parish (NLI register images) go back to about 1778
You can view the original entry on the NLI website here, the Brown/MacKin record is at the top of the left page. The discrepancy in dates is likely due to difficulty making out the dates or a typo. One way to verify that these transcripts relate to the same marriage would be to check the witnesses and or priests name..
