Matthew Crowley left Ireland in 1891 on the passenger ship Roma. He was listed as aged 26 years, Farm Labourer and from Dublin. He landed in Townsville, Queensland, Australia where he married Teresa Baptist Quigley and they brought up a family of nine children until his death in 1935.
