I am looking for help in obtaining more information about my ancestors the Howe family. In particular I would like to find more details from the record of the death of Martin Howe in 1871 - see attachment. Wonder is it possible to find out his exact address, next of kin or occupation from a death certificate is one exists. Also looking to trace a Juila Howe, who came to live in Sheffield in the 1860's She was born in Ireland sometime between 1834-1836 think she was born in Laois but nothing definite. Thank you

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
You have the index record for the death record for Martin and you can write to the General Register Office and get a copy of the actual record which would where Martin lived and the name of the nformant. Alternatively, you can wait until the Iriesh governement place all death records for viewing online. Right now only the death records from 1891 thru the 1950s are online at www.irishgenealogy.ie However, there are plans to add the death records back to 1864. Not sure whn this will happen. If you want to go the GRO route and need instructions, let me know.
One question. Did Martin lived in Roscrea parish or are you using Roscrea because the death was in the Roscrea registration district as shown on the index. We have a parish liaison in Roscrea if that is where helived.

Thank you Roger for your prompt reply. I think I will apply via the GRO route and would you let me have some information about doing so. I do not know which parish Martin Howe lived in and am only using this information from the district shown on the death index. I am looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack with regards to my great, great grandmother Julia Howe. She was listed as born in Ireland on UK 1861 census and lived at a residence where the head of the household came from Laois. Her marriage certificate named Martin Howe as her father and his occupation as a Farmer. I may be incorrect in thinking the death record is for my ancestor Martin Howe but the dates and the Laois connection interest me. Many thanks

Go to this link https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx Print the death form and fill it out to the best of your ability. Make sure you ask for a copy only. Include the info from the index record. You have to mail the reguest to Ireland (address provided when you print the form). You can ask GRO to e-mail the copy back. The cost is around four euros and I use a credit card.
