Welcome to ireland Reaching Out!
I looked on Roots Ireland but could not find the Patrick Lenihan with the parents you listed. The best record was in Clashmore RC parish (soutwest of Stradbally). See transcription below. Note the mother is Catherine but Coleman instead of Woods. I also could not find a William Lenihan marriage to Catherine Woods. Here is a link to the parish register for Stradbally http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1093 Perhaps you can find the baptismal record going thru the register. Sometimes the priest's handwriting led to transcription errors. Any other info on the family?

Hello thankyou for taking the time to help me
This information is from the Marrage Certificate of Patrick Lenihan and Jane Waylett (my 2nd great grandparents)
Marrage 7 Nov 1868 Warwick, Queensland, Australia
Birthplace, Stradbally Co. Waterford, Ireland
Father: William Lenihan
Mother: Catherine Woods
Williams occupation is listed as C.P.S.
We have drawn a blank and cannot find out any more, there are some articles for a William Lenihan as a Clerk of Pettty Sessions for Stradbally and Kilthomas.

The 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Stradbally civil parish lists a William Lenahan in Stradballymore townland. Possibly this is your William.

Since we can't find a good record on Roots Ireland (and I also checked Find My Past) my conclusion is that Patrick was baptized in a neighboring parish that no longer has records back to 1844.
