Just to clarify Coolmoyne (Fennell) townland is actually in Rathcoole civil parish just to the north of Fethard. The RC parish for Rathcoole is Killenaule.

Hopefully one of our Tipperary expers will see your message and provide info on the possible cemeteries.

Hello Roger,  Thank you kindly for the reply.  I found my 2-great grandparents and their children's baptismal records on the NLI website for the RC Parish of Fethard and Killusty.  In small print alongside the parent's names was the word 'Coolmooyne'. All six children were shown in Fethard & Killusty RC Parish.  I also found the family on the 1850 Griffith's Valuation that listed them living at Coolmoyne (Fennel), Rathcoole, SR.  I may have made an incorrect assumption that they belonged to the RC Church in Fethard, but lived in the Civil Parish of Rathcoole?   I will explore Killenaule further, as our family will visit the area next summer.  Thanks again for your prompt reply.   John O'Keefe, Madison, Wisconsin, USA.

Maybe Fethard church was easier to get to then Killenaule. If you have access to Google Maps maybe you can compare distances.

My 2X GrGf Thomas Quirk and his wife Anastacia Hackett were living in Coolmoyne when their many children were baptised from late 1820s till about 1845. The church records say Fethard. Forget if Killusty (probably) but definitely Diocese of Cashel-Emly.

Is Fennell an older name than Coolmoyne which I find on a current Google map? If so it would be a couple hundred years old. 

I believe Thomas' brother Edmund Quirk and his wife Mary Haney of Tullamane had their children's baptismal records also in Fethard. I assumed since it was an RC record Fethard referred to the RC parish of Fethard. 

Aside to John O'Keefe. I am in touch with Jack O'Keefe who admins O'Keefe DNA study at FTdna. His family might be from Cork originally. His son recently DNA matched to some degree my Quirk cousins who descend from the Thomas Quirk of Coolmoyne. It is all a bit crazy.

Contact was initiated because my husband's Shortalls of Kilkenny are related to US artist Georgia O'Keefe the most well known US female artist. Catherine Shortall wife of Pierce O'Keefe was Georgia's GrGm. Many O'Keefes are interested in G O'K.
