I am seeking information on Thomas Cassidy birth 1890 approx, who married Mary Doyle birth 1895 approx. Their son Patrick was baptised 10 jan 1817 Cappawhite, and Sydney with his wife Mary Sweeny from Cashel & Emly (father Erasmus Sweeny, mother Bridget Hickey)

Can you clarify the years for Thomas and Mary 1790 and 1795 or was Patrick 1917? (Cappawhite RC records start 1815). Can you also clarify Sydney? Was he a son of Thomas and Mary?

Hi Roger. I see that I was 100 years late with the years I gave you - whoops! They were approx 1890 .for birth of Thomas Cassidy & approx 1895 for Mary Doyle. Son Patrick was definitly 1817. And the rest of the query should read - Patrick arrived in Sydney C.1850 with his wife Mary Sweeny, her parents Erasmus Sweeny & Bridget Hickey. also with 2 children Bridget aged 7 & Thomas 1yr.

Could not locate the marriage record for Patrick and Mary but Cappawhite is not on Roots Ireland. You may want to scan the parish register. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0252
