Hello

Daniel McAneney and Catherine Mackle were married in the Catholic Church, Collegeland on 23 September 1858 by the Rev. Father McKie. I obtained this information from a Golden Wedding notice in a New Zealand newspaper.

I would like to get more information about these family members and about their marrage.

I have sent an email to the secretary of St Peter's Church at Charlemont (found email address on the Church's web site)  but todate I haven't received a reply. Have I sent this to the right place or is there another site I should send my query?

I do know that Daniel amd Catherine went to South Africa in 1860 and then on to New Zealand in 1864.

I have found a Daniel McAneany on the Griffiths Valuation but wonder if this could be Daniel's father. The golden wedding notice mentions that Daniel is the eldest son of Daniel and that Catherine is the only daughter of John Mackle

Any help would be appreciated.

Rose

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

St. Peters Church in Collegeland is part of the Loughgall cluster. http://www.armagharchdiocese.org/parishes/parish-details/?page=ddb_pari… You may want to e-mail Loughgall unless that is where you already sent an e-mail.

I was unable to find the marriage record and it appears that the marriage records for Loughgall between 1854 and 1859 are missing http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0227

The Griffiths Valuation survey was taken in 1864 in Co. Armagh. What parish did you find the Daniel McAneany record?
