I'm descended from Henry Lambert (1805-1879), illegit. son of Henry Lambert (1786-1861, M.P. for Carnagh) and one Mary Walsh. I would love to find out a great deal more about the Lambert forebears and Mary Walsh of course.

I will be visiting New Ross from 30 July - 2 August 2016, and would love to meet with relatives, volunteers and historians or anyone who can help me fill out a bit more about my family. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Welcome!

It might be a good idea to visit the National Library in Dublin as there are some Lambert papers available to view but info on their site is limited, but does include the 'Pedigree of Lambert of Ballyhire and Carnagh and Dunmaine and Bantry Lodge in Co. Wexford, of New Grove, and Clodagh, Co. Kilkenny, c.1500 -- 1840'. It is a manuscript of 5 pages or so and might prove useful. As Henry and Mary didn't marry it will be difficult to find out more about her but you could check out rootsireland.ie (a subscription site) to see if there is a potential baptism for her but you will have to estimate a year of birth and confine the search to Wexford initially.

    Best wishes
