Hello,
Still in search of the Currans that went to Newfoundland in the laste 1700s or early 1800s. On Familysearch DNA we have a DNA relationship with a Nicolas Curran (Curreen?) married to Margaret O'Flahtery who had a son Patrick between 1841 and 1844. Their son Patrick married a Feeny. Our relative in Newfoundland was also Patrick born about 1837 and Dick's DNA also shows a match with a Feeny line. Im thinking that perhaps Dick descends from a brother of Nicolas? Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. The family tree shows Cragduff, Spiddal as the location. On line I was able to find a baptism record for Patrick that is from Castlebar and Margaret's last name is listed a Duggan with her witnesses listed as Flaherty. Thanks! Tory O'Connell

Tory:
Hello again!
The baptism you found is in Castlegar parish near Galway city. I agree that the witnesses named Flaherty imply that maybe Margaret had a prior marriage to a Duggan. Ballybrit is in St. Nicholas parish which is in Galway city and not far from Spiddal. I did not see any siblings for Patrick.
