Hi everyone,
I am researching - taking up where my mom left off with her family. First evidence of our line is 1793, William Carey born in Loughrea, County Galway, later married to Ellen Ford, son born 5/201817....sons name was Dennis, and second son (my direct lineage) was named Patrick....
Anyone have connections to any of these? My family left in the 1840s for America.....settled in Minnesota and Iowa. Now I am in Hawaii!
Would love to touch bases with you about the area - the history, and especially family connections. Also related to Duggans through James Duggan - I'm sure a common name but not sure from where.....He married Eleanor Carey, who died in Iowa (?) in 1893. I have a photograph of them.

Hello,
I am the 4th great grandaughter of Patrick Carey, your ancestor. Have you done any DNA tests? I also have pictures of members of the family, some identified and some that need identifying.

Hi Ren,
Patrick Carey is my 3rd great Grandfather. His daughter (my 2nd great grandmother) Nell Carey married a Duggan. She died in her 40's as a postal worker, from injuries falling off a horse during her deliveries. I have a photo attached of Nell Carey, her husband and her children.
I have taken a DNA test through National Geographic but it was a blind test for an anthropological study. I do have some of the results.
My grandmother and mother told me stories of Great Great grandma Nell and Great Grandma Mary Ellen (Nell also) Duggan.
You can contact me at trustdatmyst@gmail.com for more information. Are you in Ireland? Really having trouble finding information on the family because of the famine.
Good to hear from you!
