I just recently received a reply to my very first inquiry to your website and was extremely pleased with the information received. I have one more inquiry and hope it is acceptable to make another request.
This inquiry presents three questions.
-
I have a Christopher Leavy in my records with a Longford I.D. #30579. Is it possible that this I.D. can provide additional information for him? If so, how would I go about requesting information, please?
-
My third great grandfather was buried from Templemichael on October 22, 1840. Is it possible to identify the cemetery?
-
I have a name of an individual that I suspect could be a brother to my great, great, great grandfather, Christopher Leavy (abt. 1788) married to Joan Dinnegan. The information that I have for the suspected sibling is very limited and it may well be that it is too limited to provide any information. The name is Hugh Leavy married to Mary Dinnegan. Their child, Michael was christened on May 4, 1807.
Thank you very much!
Joyce.

Joyce:
Hello again!
Roots has about eighr children born to a Hugh Leavy/Levy and the mother is a Mary Dennigan or a related spelling. I'm wondering if there were two Hugh/Mary couples because I located two baptismal records in 1807 four months apart! See below. You may want to check the register http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0146 Possibly Roots made a transcription error. Since records do not go back to the 1700s, you can't verify that Hugh and Christopher were brothers.
I can't help you with the ID number. We have a parish liaison in Templemichael and I will e-mail him about the cemetery.

Roger, Hello
This is my first experience with researching in Ireland and I so appreciate your kindness and assistance. You have been extremely helpful.
Thank you for providing the website for the registers. I will definitely access them. I understand that Leavy and Dennigan were popular names in Longford County during this period in time and I will look very enthusiastically for the records you mentioned.
I do hope you hear from the parish liason, I would love to have this information.
Thank you again for all your assistance. It has meant so much to have your help.
Sincerely,
Joyce
