Hello Roscrea,

I am looking for information on the MASON family of Rathdowney & Roscrea. Caleb born perhaps 1720 of Gortnecrossy & died 1769 Roscrea, married Frances WATSON. She died in 1771. They had several children incl Ann, James Watson, Thomas, Elizabeth & Frances.Thomas married unknown & had a son Thomas. Elizabeth married John OLDFIELD of Rathdowney. To the best of my knowledge these details are correct. Can anyone add to them?

Marion

  • Hi Eamonn,

Many thanks for this. I am a little confused by the two parishes being in Tipperary & Laois but all the peopleI listed are related, somehow. Hopefully there might be other descendants around. One would think so with so many!  Yes, they are rather far back but this is my direct line & maybe someone has some connections. I will work on what you have given me in the meantime.

    Marion.
