Hello,
My last name is Ardiel but that's here in Canada!
It's otherwise seen as Ardill or Ardel. My dad's family came to Canada from Borrisokane in 1819 with Talbot and I'm just curious to know if there are any Ardel's or Ardill's still in the area? Or where I could start a hunt?

I couldn't find any of the surname spellings in Tipperary in the Irish phone book I'm afraid.
The Tithe Applotments (free online have 3 Ardills in Tipperary in Modreeny which is 6 km from Borrisokane; the year is not given but it would be 1823-37

www.rootsireland.ie/ (subscription site) has 85 Ardill birth/baptism records from Tipp of which 12 are from Borrisokane RC parish starting in 1832; there are also 7 marriages from Borrisokane from 1821 but no burial records
nli RC registers (free) have a lot of Borrisokane records

Hi K . . Greetings from Roscrea . . N.Tipperary . . where we had a family of Ardill's living . . up until recently .
Tom . .deceased , and his widow still alive , but poorly, in a local nursing home . . I understand there were at least two sons in the family . . who married two local sisters . . and who would be possibly contactable . . .
In our local phone book . . that family name is listed . . close enough to the Borrisokane/Birr/Ballingarry.N.Tipp area

I know of a man . . . who lives beside the Landlord estate . . which was Modreeney . . . who has a huge knowledge of that estate and the people who lived in that area for the past 100 years . . .
