My great grandfather, Thomas Dillon, was baptized in Anagar, Paulstown, Kilkenny, on 24 Nov 1844. His father was Michael Dillon. His mother was Judith Ryan (from Leighlinbridge: father=John Ryan, mother=Mary Stanton). Thomas's older brother, John Dillon, was baptized in Paulstown on 15 Jan 1843.
I am searching for the baptismal records (RC) of Thomas's sister, Mary Dillon, who was born about 1846. The family did not leave for America until 1847, so I think Mary must also have been born and baptized in Paulstown.
Any help with this would be much appreciated!

Welcome to ireland Reaching Out!
The parish register for Paulstown on the NLI site http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0722 shows a gap with baptismal records from April 1846-May 1852. Likely Mary was baptized in the gap period. Bad timing for your research but I also have the same issue with a couple of my Mayo families.

Thank you for responding, Roger. I began to notice this gap just yesterday as I was searching Irish records. Mary was born in August 1846. Do you know what caused this record gap?

Sue:
Likely a priest or someone involved with the church just lost one of the books that contained the church records for that six year period,
