I was directed to your Parish by another member. Here's my original message:
I'm looking for the Parish of my gr gr grandfather Timothy Dee. He was born in Ireland in 1845 and came to the United States when he was about 15 years old. Unfortunately I don't know Timothy's father's name. No siblings either. Timothy served in the US Regular Army during the civil war. Timothy married Nancy Ramsey. We know for certain they lived in New Brighton, PA and raised a family there.
This was the information provided to me from Roger with County Rosscommon:
Name:Timothy Day
Date of Baptism:18-Aug-1845
Address:Not Recorded
Parish/District:NENAGH
Gender:MaleCountyCo. Tipperary
Denomination:Roman Catholic Father:Timothy DayMother:Kitty Ryan
Can anyone help me find more information on this family?
Thanks,
Todd

Dear Todd
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out
According to both my search and Rogers, Timothy's father was recorded on his baptism as Timothy Day (18-Aug-1845) and his mother Kitty Ryan. I couldn't locate a marriage record for this couple or a baptism for any other children of Timothy and Kitty. Neither was there a record of Timothy on Griffith's Valuation. Parish records for Nenagh begin quite early (1792) but there are a lot of gaps up to the 1840s for the baptism set and this could explain why we cannot locate records any further back.

For what it's worth, I have a Mary Morrissey, born in 1799 in Loughmore, Tipperary to a John Morrissey and ELLEN DEE. I have no further information on Ellen, but you might look at Loughmore and environs for your family.
