Catherine Ryan m. William Doherty and the family remained at Foilnacanna, Parish of Kilcommon/Silvermines. They had the following children between 1861 and 1879. Catherine I think was a daughter of Cornelius Ryan and Catherine Kelly, Foilnacanna.
Catherine, Margaret, Michael, Eugene/Owen, Grace, Mary, Eleanor, William and Julia.
Looking to make connections with descendents of this family

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The spelling of the townland is Foilnacanony and the civil parish is Upperchurch. The RC parish would also be Upperchurch.
Upperchurch is to the southeast of Silvermines.
Here is the 1901 and 1911 censuses for the townland including the William Doherty family and a number of Ryan families.

I checked the online Irish phonebook for Doherrty listings and did not see any listings near Upperchurch. You may want to check Ryans but I'm sure you will have to wade thru a lot of records. Make sure you use the Residential Tab.

Hi Roger
Thank you for your quick response. I had found on the National Library Parish site that all the baptisms were under the Parish of Kilcommon. On the roots ireland site I found the civil births listed as Parish Silvermines. I found variants in the spelling eg Foilnacanony, Foilnacranna and Foilnacanna which could all be in the hand writing. I realise now from looking at John Grenham's book that Kilcommon and Silvermines falls under Cashel & Emily Diocese. I am still unclear about the Upperchurch connection?
With thanks
Myriam

It is confusing and I just went into Roots and saw the records. If you go to this link http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0270 you will see a map on the upper right and you will see that Kilcommon and Upperchurch RC parish are side by side. Foilnacanony townland is in the civil parish of Upperchurch. Must be closer to the Kilcommon church and the baptisms were held there.
Upperchurch civil parish normally corresponds to Upperchurch RC parish.
