Looking for any information on my Great-Great Grandmother's family, her name is Bridget Coffey born in Aughrim Parish in 1831, daughter of John Coffey and Bridget Jennings. Emigrated to Boston in 1847 with her parents and four siblings.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The baptismal records for Aughrim/Kilconnell RC parish go back to 1828. Here is the link to the parish register http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0323 Unfortunately the records for this parish are not on Roots Ireland which would simplify the search process. Suggest you go through the register looking for Bridget and her siblings.
Let me know if you have questions.

Don't know if you received info about Bridget Coffey from my cousin, Mary McLoughlin. In searching for my great great grandmother's parents, I tracked a lot of the Coffey families from Aughrim. The children of John/James (both given names for the husband of Brigid Jennings are listed as James and in later baptismal entries as John) and Brigid Jennings emigrated to Boston after first arriving in New Brunswick on the Ship Amazon in 1847. The mother Brigid Jennings Coffey, did not come with. Thus, I believe she died before her husband and children left for NB. Brigid,( the daughter you are seeking) was already in Boston. In 1850 she posted a notice in the Boston Pilot looking for her brother Joseph. Her father and sister Ellen died in the Partridge Island Hospital in 1847. Children Anne, Joseph, Catherine and James were sent to Newfoundland Orphanage Asylum. Joseph eventually found his way to Boston, married and had a family. First he was a plumber, but then developed a fish dealership. I have not traced the fates of te three other childrn.
My greatgreat grandmother is Mary Coffey, b. about 1821, married William Burke of Northbrook, Parish of Aughrim.

Hello - I know this post is a few years old, but I was doing some research on my family and came across this message through a google search. My father is Joseph Francis Coffey the 5th - we are descendants of Bridget and John Coffey. I am the first to be born outside of Massachusetts, being born in Minnesota. Please contact me as our family has been building a family history and we don’t have much (if any) information prior to Bridget and John and would very much like to!!!
