Although married in 1830 to Michael Roughan (all spelling variations) in St. Patrick's R.C. parish in Parteen, Co. Clare, I believe my gr gr grandmother Elizabeth DOLAN may have been born in Taghmon, Co. Westmeath between 1805 and 1820.  A marriage witness was Geofrey/Jeffrey DOLAN (Elizabeth's brother ?) who married Anne TORMY in Taghmon c. 1833.  I have this marrige record along with baptismal and death records for only their children.  Unfortunately, the very early baptismal/marriage records  online for Taghmon are not ledgible.  Looking for any information these families and to learn the name of the cemetery for someone who lived and died in the townland of Crookedwood.

  • Thank you Col - I have the records you've provided along with a few more children of Geofrey Dolan & Anne Tormy.  What I'm in need of is my gr grandmother Elizabeth and Geofrey baptismal records (1800 - 1815) or any document giving parents names - good possibility father's name was also Geofrey/Jeffrey.  As I said, the Taghmon early baptismal records are online, but not ledgible.  Another helpful possibility would be to know where Geofrey and Anne are buried - maybe Geofrey's parents would be there also.  Most of the Dolan children Geofrey Jr., Michael, Elizabeth, Ann, Bridget resided in Crookedwood at the time of their deaths.
