Good Morning,
My mom’s family is from Manulla, Parke and Cappavicar North. I have joined Castlebar hoping that these towns are included within the Parish. Thank you very much in advance for your time and consideration.
With kind regards,

Michael:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Castlebar is the largest town in Co. Mayo and is part of the civil parish of Aglish. Castlebar is also an RC parish.
Manualla is a village and civil parish to the southeast of Castlebar. http://www.mayo-ireland.ie/en/towns-villages/manulla/manulla.html
Cappavicar North is a townland in Turlough civil parish.to the northeast of Castlebar.
Parke is an RC parish and also a townland in Turlough parish.
So if the family was from Parke and Cappavicar North, Turlough may be your parish.
Let me know.

Hello Rodger,
Thank you very much for your note, it’s nice to hear from you again. I believe you helped me once before through your Leitrim / Roscommon web-site. A belated congratulations on your 2014 “Volunteer of The Year” award. I will join the Parishes of Manulla and Turlough.
My great grandfather Patt Gibbons was a farmer in Cappavicar North. They say he also had a store on Main Street Castlebar, selling farm goods and implements. He was married to Bridget Fox and together they had ten children. I believe Bridget’s sister Margaret Fox married Thomas J Wynn, the famous Irish photographer, after his first wife died.
My great grandfather Michal Duffy was a farmer and shoemaker in Parke. He married Ann Foye of Cloughboy, Manulla on August 4th, 1869 St. Josephs Church Keelouges and together they had seven children. They say Mike’s mom sent him to Dublin to become a shoemaker so he would always have proper foot ware as he was born with one leg shorter than the other.
At this time I am looking for any information, Birth and or Baptismal about my grandfather James P Duffy’s Sister Katherine Duffy. We think she was born sometime in the mid 1880’s. Thank you very much again for your time and effort.
With kind regards,
Michael

Michael:
Thanks for your kind words.
I searched on Roots Ireland from 1875-1895 for children of Michael Duffy and Ann Foy and only found records for Anne 1876 Bridget 1881 and Sarah 1884.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hello Rodger,
Currently we have found the following information about the Duffy children.
Mary, born June 29, 1870, Ellen, born May 15, 1872, James, born April 10, 1873, Katherine, born?
Ann, born Sept. 9, 1876, Bridget born Aug 20, 1881, Delia, born 1883, and Sarah, born Aug. 3, 1884.
I seem to remember my mom always saying her father had six sisters, I could be wrong, maybe there were seven. Anyway, I will continue looking for more information about the family.
Thank you very much again for all of your help. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
With kind regards,
Michael J Hogan
