    Welcome to Ireland reaching Out!

Can't tell what time period you are searching. No Hynes records in the 1855 Griffiths Valuation for Clonrush parish and no Hynes families in the 1901 and 1911 census records for Whitegate. Please advise.

I located the 1901 and 1911 census records for Anne Hynes. She was living in Meelick townland in Clonrush civil parish. The 1911 census appears to indicate that she had nine children with eight living in 1911. I also located a possible civil marriage index record in 1867 in the Scariff registration district. Anne was possibly Anne Mulvihill. (see below)

  • Roger, You're a star. I think you are right - Anne Mulvihill - I searched Family Search for births and the fit with the census info for Meelick family is very strong. I suspect I need someone familiar with the area who might point me towards any surviving descendents still living in the Meelick/Whitegate area if I am to fill in any more about this branch of my wifes family. I really appreciate your help on this. Liam

  • Liam have you tried to contact local historian Alfie O'Brien in Meelick? He has a website clonrush.eu and always replies to emails I have sent to him. I have Ryan and Fahy in my tree and have seen Mulvihill in my research of another part also. My main family names in that area are Goonane, Roonan, Tuohy and Watson. Suzanne
