Here are the 1901 and 1911 census records for the family. Hugh was deceased by 1901. Bridget was living with Thomas and Terence in Tiravally Glebe townland in Kinawley civil parish. I looked for civil death index records for Hugh Owens in the Enniskillen registration district and found three possible records which are below. If you want a copy of his death record, you would need to contact the GRO, If you know which year he died then use the index record below. Let me know if you have further questions.

As I am trying to identify the Father of Thomas Owens 1866 and if he had a sister Anne Owens 1856 that married a Hugh Baxter.

Beverly, Hugh Owens was my great grandfather, married to Bridget Owens nee Farmer.  Did you find all the information you were looking for? Appreciate it was a post from 2013 but I’ve just found this site!!

Graig, Thanks for your reply!   I am trying to connect the dots on some of my Cleary family. 

So Hugh and Bridget Farmer Owens were parents to Mary Owens Cleary.    Mary Owens (1866-1949) married James Cleary(164-1937) and they had one daughter, MaryAnn b (1901-1929).  

  I see the headstone in St. Nailes Cemetery lists a Charlie Farmer.  Is he related to your  Bridget Farmer ?     

If you wouldn't mind letting me know the siblings of Mary Owens I would appreciate the information.

Hello Beverly, so what Daniel21 and I know so far is

We are not sure on Bridget surname.  Daniel had found the surname Conlon,  but on some paperwork we found in my Mums house when she passed away last year it stated Farmer.  Daniel has changed the name on his spreadsheet and we just have to wait and see if it’s a hit.    However, if it is Farmer that explains Charlie Farmer been in the family plot.

So Hugh and Bridget had 4 children of which one was Mary Owens Cleary.  There was Terence - no details. Anne Owens 1856 - 1939 - she married Hugh Baxter and had 5 children Maggie, Patrick, Robert, Mary Kate don’t know last name.  Maggie married a James Finlay and they have one son Bob Finlay b. 1943. 
 

Last child of Hugh and Bridget was Thomas Owens my grandad, who married Agnes McCauley.

I hope I have answered all your questions.  I have recently met (online) Daniel21 who is doing a sterling job of trying to pull all the information together.

Thanks for the information on the Owens.  I do have some additional information that I can share with you.  I'll go through what I have and let you know. It may be a day or so before I can get back with you.

I also a photo of the headstone for the Owens and there is a McCauley on there.  Can you give me some dates of your grandparents please?  I am trying to match the names up.

Hello Aggie and Daniel,

This is what I have on Hugh Owens: Of course as you already know, he is father to Mary Owens Cleary. He  is also the  father to Thomas b:1866 d: 1949 and  Terence b about 1866 d: 1937.  ( from 1901 and 1911 census reports they were two years apart with Thomas being the older son). There is a will for Hugh Owens who passed away 11 May 1900.  I have a copy of  affidavits of attesting witnesses to Hugh's will signed by Charles Farmer and an Oath for the Executor signed by Terence Owens.  There is also a handwritten will but the writing is almost illegible. It is also signed by Charles Farmer and Terence Owens. This was possibly taken at his bedside prior to his death.

If you could provide your email addresses I can forward you what I have. We can share information.  I have also see the name Hugh Baxter but have not pursued any more information on him.

I am in the USA so if you are in Ireland there is obviously a big time difference.

Bev hi.  Hugh Baxter married Anne Owens (another daughter belonging to Hugh Owens).  H Baxter was from Cavan.  Anne Owens 1856 - 1939.
