I am trying to trace my family history and would appreciate any help or guidance you can provide.
My great great grandparents were married in Ballyrashane, Derry on 24 September 1850 as shown here: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGFW-SZL
Robert Mccolgin is shown as daughter Jane’s (b approx 1831) father and William Hunter as Joseph’s (b approx 1826) father. I would like to find out more about their parents but can’t seem to go any further back without some more information like addresses or mother’s name.
Jane and Joseph emigrated in 1858/59 to Milton of Campsie / Lennoxtown in Glasgow with their then children Ann b1851, Eliza Jane b1854 and Matilda b1855.
In 1859 Joseph (my great grandfather) was born in Milton of Campsie, followed by Mary b1862 and Sarah b1871. Joseph senior worked in the local printworks and retired at the turn of the century as a school janitor.
I am not sure, but I would imagine Jane was a local girl and perhaps Joseph was from further afield, but if I am lucky, I hope they were both local.
I am also not sure in which church they were married in Ballyrashane, perhaps it was St. John the Baptist or the Presbyterian Church
Thanks for any further assistance you can provide.

Thanks Brendan, is there any where online I can find out more? - I dont think the church has a website or a contact email address.
Can I ask how you found out it was the Presbyterian Church?
Thanks again

Hi Joe,
Ballyrashane church records are online here, you register for free, records cost 5 euro
Put in Joseph marriage 1850, then select Ballyrashane Presbyterian from the parish drop down menu.
