John Foley 13 A Slaght Kilgarvan.1952

Immediate leser IN FEE L.A..P

description of tenement Ho d land 40 acres 8 land 1 building total 9 observations april 45 underneath 45 9-148 underneath 32 c l...(fishery)

records show Foley's owned or were on land in Slaghts since 1826 until now. They are still listed in the phonebook. I would like someone to ask them if they would like to see my information on the family .I would like to meet them if possible. I beleive they may speak Gaelic and it would possibly be difficult to understand each other.

Also is the church in Kilgarvan still having mass?

    Hi Donna,

Thank you very much for your message.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a volunteer in place in Kilgarvan who would be able to do this.

If there are Foley?s listed in the phonebook perhaps you could try writing to them to see if they are interested on seeing your research. Although, they may speak Irish I would not worry about communication difficulties as English is the main language in Ireland and is spoken by everyone, even those in the Irish speaking areas.

With regards to mass in the area, I did a quick search and found that St. Patrick?s Church still have pass. Follow this link for details http://www.dioceseofkerry.ie/parish.php?parish=Kilgarvan&sec=mass_times

I hope this is helpful. Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,
