Of course, their parents' names are missing!

There are no Clohertys in the Irish Census 1821 in Galway & Galway is not  included in the 1831, 41 or 51 Censuses.

Griffiths Valuation (free online) has 7 Pat/Patrick Clohertys all in Clifden district in 1855.

However there are no Clohertys in Galway in the Tithe Applotments 1823-37.

Thanks Col, I had his baptism record but not parents marriage record.  Michael moved to Dumbarton and married my Gt Gt Grandmother Delia Egan (also from Galway) on Scottish records it became Clacherty (we believe that as they couldn't read or write the Scottish registrar would have had difficulty understanding the  Irish  accent hence how it changed.....altho' my Gt a Grandfather and all bar one family member changed it to Clocherty.
