Hello, I am researching my husbands Curran family and he has a dna match that I believe leads to Martin Curran from Spiddal Ned died 1878. Martin was married to Catherine who was born about 1816. They had a son Martin Curran born abt 1836 who married Mary Flaherty. Their daughter Mary Curran brn 1867 married Coleman Conley. I can only get my husbands family substantiated into Newfoundland with his great grandfather Patrick Curran brn 1837 - I don't know if Patrick was born in Newfoundland or Ireland. Hoping that by tracing back Martin's line I might find the overlap. We will be in Ireland in early September and it woudl be great to know more. Thanks for any help!

Hello again.
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000634221#page/28/mode/1up Hopefully this link takes you to the church death record for Martin on March 22 1878. The Ned after Spiddal is likely a way of distinguishing this Martin Curran from other Martin Currans and likely his father was Ned. By the way, I was unable to locate a civil death index record.
The Spiddal RC records don't start until 1861 but you may want to check the Moycullen RC records to see if by chance some of the church events for the family were recorded in that church. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0633
