  • Dear Nick

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

While we do our best to connect people on our site, this connection is usually with descendants of those who left Ireland during and after the famine and distant relations of the original family who may have remained. Usually our research focuses on those prior to 1913. In order to protect the privacy of those who may still be living we ask our volunteers and users to abide by the 100 year rule, thereby not providing information about individuals without their express consent.

Should any of the family get in touch here I will be delighted to pass along to you.

    Many thanks

  • Hello Nick

I have no marriage details for any of your uncles or aunt and I assume that none of them got married.  Going by the date of birth for the eldest sibling I would say that Denis O'Shea and Julia O'Leary got married between mid-1913 and March 1914 and had only the one daughter-in-law, Maeve Gayler.  I have written to a contact of mine who lives near to the old family farm to see if he can tell me what became of it.  You still have distant relatives in Beara but are you in touch with any of them?  If I come up with further information it may be a little bit too personal to post on this site so you may like to contact me at bearagenealogy@gmail.com
